One hundred and forty people crowded into Barnstaple Guildhall last night at the Town Council Planning Meeting in Barnstaple Guildhall. They all came to show their support for the campaign to Save Manning’s Pit.
In the photograph you can see Martin Kemp (the film director who made “The Magic of Manning’s Pit” and Chris Bulpett (who appears in the film.) They are on the front bench, and Chris has papers in his hand. Our other speaker, Bev Snowden, who also appears in the film, was already on her feet, up at the other end of the table.
More coming about what they had to say, but for now, the good news is that the Town Council Planning Committee members were unanimous in their recommendation that the application to build 41 houses on Manning’s Pit should be refused.
